More Scholarship Details

The scholarship provides chances for academic and professional growth in addition to helping with tuition or other educational costs. Recipients of scholarships will join a network of outstanding student researchers studying marine and coastal challenges around the state. The recipients will also gain access to seminars, conferences, and other activities sponsored by Sea Grant that focus on a number of items including and not limited to marine and coastal research, politics, resource management, community engagement and outreach, and education.

According to Jessica Jansujwicz, assistant director of research for Maine Sea Grant, "The undergraduate scholarship awardees represent a glimpse of the talent, competence, and promise we are witnessing across the various talent pools we have."

"We think the scholarships will foster the types of practical learning opportunities and professional development possibilities that will position these students for success in whichever area they pursue," said the scholarship program.
